Sometimes Windows Mail and a Mail provider introduce some fancy feature that involves auto sorting your mail into other folders, or prioritises them, that sort of thing.
Checkyour filter rules: Go to your Outlook settings and check to see if you have any filter rules set up that could be automatically moving emails to different folders. Make sure the rules are set up correctly and are moving emails to the intended folders. Check your archive settings: If you're accidentally archiving emails instead of moving select'Don't delete any messages'. click on 'OK'. Right click on Inbox folder and select 'Properties'. click on 'Retention Policy' tab. make sure it says 'Use my account settings'. click on 'General Information' tab. Check to see if folder index is out of synch with actual storage, click on 'Repair folder' button.
